Established in 2024, The Romanian Society of Clinical Research Centers (RSCRC) supports the necessity of collective representation and manifestation of clinical research sites, both public and private, of the teams involved in clinical research, organically integrating the need for information and access of the patients to the research programs in Romania.

RSCRC actively promotes the development of the socio-economic framework necessary for multilayered supporting of the activity of existing clinical research sites, public and private, but also for stimulating the establishment of new clinical research centers. Such a framework is vital in order to create the premises for these clinical research sites to equally benefit from all the resources they need
in order to do their research work at the highest quality and safety standards.

RSCRC, along with its academia partners, is involved in developing graduate and post-graduate curricula, ongoing educational programs dedicated to clinical research, and in shaping the framework for how these programs should be organized, in order to allow real-time access for the research team members: physicians, pharmacists, psychologists, nurses, and other professionals from areas connected to clinical research. RSCRC stands for the recognition, de jure et de facto, of equivalence for the quality and contributions of clinical research conducted by the teams in Romania with those conducted in The European Union or The United States of America.

RSCRC promotes excellence in clinical research and contributes to the global progress of all efforts made towards medical innovation, as well as those in the broader area of healthcare, for the benefit of all patients. RSCRC supports the rights of patients to benefit in real-time from correct and open information about clinical research in general and the clinical research programs happening in Romania. Patients need to be provided with informed and non-discriminative access to clinical research sites, public and private, for clinical research programs dedicated to their illnesses.

Today, the practice of evidence-based medicine is a challenge both for the physician, as well as for healthcare systems, generated by the hiatus between the current model of medical practice and clinical research, an essential part of medical scientific research,” says the reputed Academician Victor Voicu, pharmacologist and doctor of medicine, The President of the Medical Science Department of The Romanian Academy and The Honorary President of The Romanian Society of Clinical Research Sites.

RSCRC is founded by significant figures in the field, ensuring, through diversity and representation, the strong validity of the Romanian initiatives. The founding members group includes Hans Christian Hoeck, MD, PHD, CEO & President of Trialcare, and member of the board of The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS), the organization that leads clinical research efforts on a global level.

The academic side involved in research, represented by Prof. Dr. Viorel Jinga, Rector of UMFCD, Prof. Dr. Daniel David, Rector of UBB, and Prof. Dr. Dragoș Vinereanu, head of the Cardiology Clinic of The University Emergency Hospital in Bucharest and the President of the UMFCD Senate, is completed by the medical side of the professional directly involved in clinical processes, through Prof. Dr. Patriciu Achimaș-Cadariu, MD specialized in oncological obstetrics and oncological surgery at ”Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuţă” Oncology Institute in Cluj-Napoca, and Conf.
